The Chance Theater General Endowment was established to provide a long-term, sustainable source of income to support the overall operations, artistic programming, and strategic priorities of Chance Theater. The Endowment will serve as a financial cornerstone for the organization, helping ensure its resilience, independence, and continued service to the community.
Endowment gifts of $20,000 and above receive permanent recognition. Named endowments begin at $100,000.

The Bette & Wylie Aitken Endowment was established in honor of Bette Aitken’s unwavering support for Chance Theater and her lifelong passion for the arts. Created as a challenge to launch a general endowment for the Chance, it inspired the community to raise more than $100,000, which was then matched, marking a spectacular beginning for Chance Theater’s General Endowment. This fund helps build long-term financial stability so the theater can continue to serve our community for years to come.
- Claire St. John Endowment
The Claire St. John Endowment was established in loving memory of Claire St. John, a young artist, a radiant soul, and a light that shone brilliantly and left too soon. Created to honor her creative spirit and the joy she brought to others, this fund will provide enduring support for the general operations of Chance Theater. - Laurie Smits Staude Union Artist Endowment
The Laurie Smits Staude Union Artist Endowment was established to support Chance Theater’s ongoing commitment to producing exceptional theater and providing meaningful opportunities for artists. This fund expands the theater’s capacity to engage union artists, allowing Chance to draw from an even wider range of experience, training, and artistic perspectives.
