On the Cripe Stage…

Scrooge! The Musical is a heartwarming and festive adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novella A Christmas Carol, featuring music, lyrics, and book by Leslie Bricusse.

Set in Victorian London, the story follows the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, a cold-hearted moneylender who despises Christmas and lives a life devoid of compassion and joy. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, who warns him to change his ways or suffer a grim fate in the afterlife. Scrooge undergoes a profound experience of redemption over the course of a Christmas Eve night, after being visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future.

With a score full of memorable songs, including music for which composer Bricusse received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score for the film adaptation, Scrooge! The Musical blends humor, drama, and uplifting messages in a celebration of redemption and the true meaning of Christmas.

Recommendation: Wonderful for the entire family, ages 4 and up.

    1. It was very entertaining, creative visual and sound effects, lively and fun, yet touching and meaningful. The live piano was great too! The actor who played Scrooge was wonderful!

    3. I enjoyed the intimacy of the small theater and the performances were very good. When I initially purchased my seats they appeared to be to the far side of the stage so I was worried my view would be bad, but they ended up being great.

    4. Excellent show! Made that old story fresh and fun again.

      — Marsha Lindsey
    5. The quality of performances/tech/audio/musician. We’re theater people and didn’t expect this level of talent. We plan to become patrons.

LOVED the after show meet/greet/pic opportunity! My husband never wants to do that! He spoke to many cast members! Win!

We are planning on becoming regulars with both our guests we brought to the performance…and our son/daughter-in-law!
      Bravo!

    6. My daughter and I have gone to a different production of A Chirstmas Carol every year for ten years. This was one of our absolute favorites. The music allows you inside the minds of the characters. Also, your casting was just perfect. Somehow, with just a piano, the play sounded like a full musical. Great pianist.

    27. Scrooge! The Musical was so funny and entertaining to watch. From the music to actors, technical elements, and story, this is a show for any age to see. Although there are some dark moments, there were also some comedic and sentimental moments, and the overall message of this show is one that audiences everywhere can resonate with. With that, it is about Christmas which puts people in that holiday spirit. I would highly recommend this show for anyone who wants to get into the Christmas spirit and have a laugh, enjoy catchy and entertaining music, watch a diverse cast come alive and tell a story, as well as teach you lessons, any audience member can learn something from this show. I enjoyed the fact that there wasn’t a talkback, but instead, giving the audience the chance to meet the cast and sign autographs. I got to see people from previous shows like Spring Awakening and Rent, as well as talk with them and learn from them (fellow musical theatre kid here) and get to know them as well, and take pictures. It was fun being able to share my thoughts with them.

    41. It was very nice that there was no line for drinks when we arrived about 15 minutes before the performance. I don’t know if this bartender was more efficient than normal or fewer people were getting drinks, but it was a pleasant surprise, because we often have to stand in a long line.
