Michael Serna is the Artistic Director for Costa Mesa Playhouse. At the Playhouse he has directed: Buried Child (Orange Curtain Review “Masterpiece” show), The Beauty Queen of Leenane, RENT, The Whale (Orange Curtain Review Awards for Best Director and Set Design, multiple OCTG Awards nominee and winner), Clybourne Park (OCTG Award for Outstanding Play, Orange Curtain Review multi -nominee), A Streetcar Named Desire, The Christians, Tommy: The Musical in concert, Dinner With Friends, Of Mice and Men, A Behanding in Spokane, God of Carnage, True West, Proof, and The Odd Couple. Additional regional directing credits include: The Importance of Being Earnest, Anna in the Tropics, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Big River, subUrbia, The Diary of Anne Frank, The Good Doctor, and many others. Michael was the proud recipient of the Orange County Theater Man of the Year for 2016. MFA from Cal State University Fullerton, BA from UNLV.
