Artist Profile
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Marlene Galán is a first-generation Cuban-American actor, host, and TV personality. Spanish was Marlene’s first language and she remains bilingual.
Her favorite credits include crime thriller feature film Echoes of Violence and Signs of Wonders for the BBC. On stage, right before the pandemic, Marlene completed a successful run of Edward Albee’s Three Tall Women. Working on the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Sweat, by Lynn Nottage is an honor and she’s thrilled to collaborate with Chance Theatre in these unusual times.
Outside of acting, she is the proud bio, step, and adoptive mom to five kids, all of whom have flown the nest except Ava who is a 17 year old Junior in high school. An avid desert hiker, she and her lawyer husband Grant also founded the Mesa Boys & Girls Club and the Phoenix Children’s Museum.
